Solution for software manufacturers presented:
TRAFFIQX Invoice API: Mandatory eInvoicing no longer a challenge for software manufacturers

Kaiserslautern, July 2024 - With the new TRAFFIQX Invoice API, Germany's largest provider network for the exchange of electronic transaction documents is responding to the requirements associated with the mandatory e-invoicing for B2B transactions from 2025. Instead of providing their own interfaces and connection options for their products, software providers from any industry can rely on the TRAFFIQX Invoice API.

The component makes it possible to integrate eInvoicing functions into various software applications, even if they are not explicitly prepared for eInvoicing. For the manufacturers of these applications, this means an immense saving in programming and administration costs. Their customers benefit from the seamless integration of all invoice-relevant transactions into their familiar software environment.

The TRAFFIQX solution is likely to pay off particularly with regard to the future digital reporting system for VAT data. This is because the sender and recipient of an e-invoice will then have to additionally ensure that all tax-relevant data is also transmitted to the tax authorities.

“One-fits-all” interface for electronic invoice exchange relieves pressure on software manufacturers

Many small and medium-sized companies use various software solutions for the creation and processing of invoices and other types of documents, such as ERP, merchandise management, dealer management or tradesman systems. The functionality of these systems is generally perfectly tailored to the requirements of the respective organizational structure and industry. This includes the generation of invoices and credit notes with all industry-specific details. What is often neglected, however, are the requirements of the recipients and the design of the further exchange after the documents have been created - especially in view of the upcoming e-invoicing obligation from the beginning of 2025.

“The integration of e-invoicing functions into existing systems is complex due to the variety of data formats, transmission paths, legal requirements and digital platforms,” explains Uwe Gibis, interoperability expert at TRAFFIQX. “Many of the existing programs only offer limited interoperability, which can lead to difficulties when software users have to implement the new requirements.” With the connection to the TRAFFIQX network, the exchange of electronic invoices outside of the established e-mail, for example via the pan-European Peppol network or other e-invoicing platforms, is no longer a hurdle.

To make this implementation technically easier, TRAFFIQX is now introducing a dedicated API for the cost- and resource-saving integration of the legally required eInvoice functionality. With the new TRAFFIQX Invoice API, Germany's largest eInvoicing network offers an interface that enables manufacturers of industry and special software to implement the legal requirements with a fraction of the usual development and maintenance effort. Particularly cost-efficient, in the shortest possible time and absolutely future-proof.

This allows software manufacturers to concentrate on their respective core competencies. The established TRAFFIQX network operators such as Datev eG, Bundesdruckerei, Quadient, SGH, Ricoh and b4value.net take care of the complex provision of the prescribed eInvoice formats and the conversion into the required data formats for further processing in the connected industry, ERP or administration software. This also includes the ongoing assurance of international eInvoicing compliance and interoperability.
